General Rules:
Tournament LayoutThe first full 32 teams will be able to enter the tournament.
The first and second tournament round will be single elimination, reducing the number of teams down to 8.
The rest of the tournament rounds will be double.
The tournament will be demanding and you may end up playing back to back games for a whole day without many breaks.
Tournament Sign ups and Schedule
Signups will occur at the event from 9:00am-4:00pm Thursday.
A team captain meeting will occur at 4:30pm Thursday to discuss any questions or concerns about the tournament.
The tournament will start running at 5:00pm Thursday.
Tournament Procedures
All game information will be on the Fragapalooza Intranet prior to the match, including time and server. Teams have 10 minutes to show up for their game or a forfeit will be awarded.
Scheduling will not be worked around other events so pick your priorities
For each game the teams will connect to the designated server and join the appropriate team.
After the game is over a representative of each team must go to the head table to get the score recorded.
At any time your game may be displayed on the projector screens.
Ties
Overtime Procedure TBD
Communication
Players are allowed to use all built in communication methods such as team chat, and all built in radio messages as well as verbal communication. Use of a third party client such as ventrilo or teamspeak will also be allowed, on grounds of this being no different than verbal communication.
Heckling, communicating with, or use of foul language in all chat forums is prohibited.
Only team captains are permitted to use the 'general chat' to communicate with the other team captain for administration and match related issues.
Viewing or gathering information from the opponents screen (example: from a spectator) is prohibited.
Disconnections
If a player drops during a game, the same player must try to connect again as quickly as possible; the match will not be held up while he tries to get back into the game. If the player is unable to reconnect the rest of the map will still be played out.
Participants are responsible for the stability of their own computers.
If the same player cannot rejoin the server then your 6th player (sub) may connect, no pausing will be allowed.
If a participant seems to be effected by an outside source (i.e. ping flooding or other network attacks) the captain should pause the game and find a staff member.
Abuse of the pause feature (crying wolf) may result in disqualification from the tournament.
Server Crashes
If a server crashes during any half, the remaining time in that half will be played out and scores will be kept as they were prior to the crash. Special considerations may be made by the organizers, again – all staff decisions are final. If there is a dispute about the scores and/or time remaining, organizers will make a judgement call.
Cheating
Cheating is gaining an unfair advantage over your opponent.
Any team caught cheating will be removed the tournament and possibly the event without a refund.
All decisions from Fragapalooza Staff are final.
If during a game you suspect the opposing team of cheating, immediately have your captain pause the game and contact a Fragapalooza Staff member.
Abuse of the pause feature (crying wolf) may result in disqualification from the tournament.
The following (but not limited to) is considered cheating:
-Altering the game in anyway outside of what can be done in game. This includes changing textures, models, skins, crosshairs, maps, sounds, modification of CVAR/DVARS that would that yield an unfair advantage in play such as those that modify weather, lessen the effectiveness of things like smoke grenades, remove/lessen ambient sounds, or result in any effect that would be like modifying textures or hitboxes, etc.
The general rule is: if you can’t change it from the game’s normal option screens, then don’t change it!
-Using any third party program that gives you an unfair advantage… speed hacks, ESP hacks, wallhacks, aimbots, etc.
Use your head! Fragapalooza Staff have the final say over what is or is not considered a cheat.
If you are in doubt as to whether your game install contains cheats then delete it entirely and reinstall it from scratch.
-Use of any game or map exploits to gain an unfair advantage is also considered cheating.
Remember that that there will be people watching your screens! If you are remotely unsure about something, you must ASK!
